The erotic drama broke box office records last weekend when it premiered in theaters across the country, raking in $85.2 million domestically.
It was the biggest February debut and the biggest Presidents Weekend release in movie history, according to trade rag Variety. Internationally, the movie has pulled in $300 million so far.
The picture’s popularity, despite being trashed by critics, is due to it’s racy R-rated content. Based on the erotic novel by E.L. James, the story is about business mogul Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), who has, shall we say, exotic tastes in sex.
He meets a young graduate student, Anastasia Steele, played by Johnson, and they immediately connect. After wining and dining her, Grey eventually invites her into his lifestyle of sexual bondage and sado-masochism.
The movie explores their relationship in explicit sex scenes. The submissive Steele is blindfolded, tied up, whipped and other engages in other kinky stuff by the dominant Grey.
During an appearance on the “Today” show last July, Johnson, the daughter of actors, Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, said she would not want her parents to see the movie.
“If it were them doing the movie, I wouldn’t want to see that,” she said.
The viral video shows Johnson nude in various poses, including being tied up and bent over being whipped. Unfortunately, the video is too racy to show on this site, but you can see it at EssCurve.com. Caution: NSFW
