More than 30 women have come forward so far and related eerily similar tales of being drugged and sexually molested by the comedian.
The alleged attacks occurred over the course of his career even as he was being lauded as a positive role model for his groundbreaking sit-com “The Cosby Show,” in the 1980s and early 1990s.
The video is striking because Cosby is pictured sitting and speaking into a rotary telephone, which went out of regular production, except for novelty phones, 50 years ago.
Is the phone even connected, or is it a stage prop?
He’s sitting on an overstuffed chair against a blue curtain backdrop wearing maroon-colored pajamas. The phone is sitting next to him on a table or desk.
The irony was not lost on social media, since many of the women describe waking up in Cosby’s presence while he was wearing pajamas, a bathrobe or nothing at all.
Cosby apparently released the video to ABC News, which aired hit this morning. (see below)
“Dear Fans: I hope you enjoy my wonderful video message that’s filled with laughter. Hey, hey, hey, I’m far from finished,” Cosby wrote in a message accompanying the video, which also could be interpreted to have a double message.
Did he mean far from finished with this shows, or alleged serial sex assaults? One would have to assume the former.
In the wake of the allegations, Cosby has been forced to cancel a number of his one-man shows. But he has vowed to continue with his tour. His next show is scheduled in West Virginia.
His most recent accuser, identified only as Patricia, stepped forward only six days ago and related how Cosby made her smear oatmeal on her face and wear her hair in a up-do like Queen Noor of Jordan. The alleged incident took place 40 years ago, according to reports.
Because of the passage of time, and lack of evidence in most cases, Cosby has not been prosecuted.
