Tirado photographed their ride through the waves with a go-pro camera strapped to the front of his belly board.
It’s hard to tell whether the baby is in a harness. Possibly, he isn’t, but he certainly doesn’t have a life vest or other flotation device.
According to Jorge, this is his son’s first venture into the ocean. His English is a little rough, but he writes.

By far, This is the best sport for you spiritual, mental and physical health.”
He’s got that right. The only problem is the little tot looks like he’s scared out of his wits half the time. The other half of the time, he’s under water.
Jorge actually catches a small wave and rides it in.
There is no other information about the clip, and the reaction in the comments section is decidedly mixed.
So irresponsible dude,” writes one commentator. “you’re lucky your child is alive. At least put the kid in a lie vest for fu*k sake. You’re a terrible parent and a poor excuse for a waterman for doing this.
“I guess it’s lucky you don’t live in the US – people get their children taken away from them for endangering their lives like this. Terrible”
Responded another: “That’s the problem, in the U.S. you cant really do a thing, not so free. Your kids will grow up being afraid of stuff that way. DO NOT DO THAT, DO NOT DO THIS, come on!!”
