James Franco has another great idea. He wants to know your all-time favorite television shows and favorite scenes so he can remake them. Apparently he has waaay too much time on his hands, but the idea is kinda genius.

He issued the challenge to his Instagram followers last night with a post.

The ground rules are simple. He wants you to tell him over social media, or better yet do it on video. Let him know the shows you’d like to see recreated and your favorite scenes from the shows.

Then post with the hash tag: #tvshowsforjames

So far he’s gotten 57 thousand likes and about 230 posts under the hash tag. So what are his fan’s favorites?

Well, the picks range from ’50s sitcom “The Honeymooners,” starring Jackie Gleason and Ed Norton, to ’80s classics like “Roseanne” and “The A-Team.”

Some of the more current shows include “How I Met Your Mother,” which ran from 2005 to 2014, “The X-Files,” which is already set to be remade.

So far no one has suggested anything more highbrow from Masterpiece Theater, but “Twin Peaks,” the 1990-91 series about the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer, got a push.

Franco’s own foray into situation comedy, “Freaks and Geeks” also got a couple of votes. He starred in the series in 1990-91 with
Linda Cardellini, John Francis Daley, Samm Levine, Seth Rogen and Jason Segel.

The show ran for only 18 episodes but has developed a cult following.

There is some method to Franco’s madness. He’s increasingly getting into directing.
