The fourth installment in the “Hunger Games” franchise brings the saga to a fiery conclusion as rebels move on the Capitol to take down President Snow (Donald Sutherland).
Katniss is leading the charge support by fellow cast members Josh Hutcherson (Peeta), Liam Hemsworth (Gale), Sam Claflin (Finnick), Elizabeth Banks (Effie Trinket) and Woody Harrelson (Haymitch Abernathy).
Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who died of an accidental drug overdose during production, also makes a brief appearance. He plays Plutarch Heavensbee, who becomes a leader of the rebellion in the 13 Districts.
The film’s final showdown takes place in the sprawling Capitol, where an elite group lives off the impoverishment of the masses in the Districts. Katniss is the Mockingjay, the mythical savior of the districts.
But President Snow doesn’t just melt away. He unleashes a host of diabolical weapons to suppress the rebellion. A number of them are featured in the new clip.
The trailer was the highlight of the Comic-Con Hunger Games panel. Beside Lawrence, Harrelson and Hemsworth, Director Francis Lawrence, and cast member Natalie Dormer helmed the panel.
Dormer, who also appears in HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” plays Cressida, a resident director from the Capitol, who joins the rebellion with her camera crew.
