The first photos from the shoot when viral today (July 24) on the Internet and are drawing a widely mixed reaction.
The campaign was announced last month.
One tabloid calls her Barbarella in reference to the 1968 French-Italian science fiction film, starring Jane Fonda. She played a space travelling vixen who constantly ends up having sex.
To effect the look, Kim wears a black, cut-out body suit with an open neckline that plunges to her naval. Metallic and pastel colored panels flank her breasts
Her hair is braided in corn rows. (cultural appropriation?!)
In other photos, she evokes Audrey Hepburn in her 1957 classic “Funny Face.” Hepburn played a model and New York City hipster who longs to go to Paris to find the next hot fashion trend.
Kim, 34, wears a black long-sleeve turtleneck shirt and black jeans. She poses with a bicycle in a studio and riding down the street.
Another shot shows her flat on her back next to her tipped over bicycle. (Right we didn’t get that, either)
In still another variation, Kim wears what can only be described as high-end, 8th Avenue hooker style. It includes black, thigh-high, lace-up boots and a patterned black leather mini-dress.
Her best look is her simplest. She is braless in a white tank-top with her hair pulled straight back.
Kim holds a can of the product next to her face. But for the brand’s sake, she probably should have jammed it in her ample cleavage, which is a powerful eye magnet.
