Taylor Swift has won the Best Pop Video Award at the MTV Video Music Awards for her “Blank Space” video. It featured her with a split personality, one is a “daydream,” the other a “nightmare.” She goes from playful to fatal attraction.
The song is a play on tabloid reports about her reputation as a man-eater. Many boyfriends have passed in and out of her life since she shot to fame.
The award is one of 10 for which she’s nominated, including Video of the Year.
In the “Blank Space” video, she’s the ultimate catch, wealthy, young and beautiful. A gorgeous man drives onto her estate in a high-end sports car and they begin a beautiful romance.
“Nice to meet you, where you been. I can show you incredible things,” she sings.
But love’s a game: “Wanna play?” she slyly adds.
Taylor wines and dines her beau. For some reason, the lyrics seem to conjure her summer fling with Kennedy scion Conor Kennedy, the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Just when things seemed to heat up, Kennedy cousins, Maria Shriver, 56, and Caroline Kennedy, 54, both reportedly tried to end it, because they thought Taylor was moving in on their barely-legal nephew way too fast.
She ended up dumping him and reportedly broke his heart.
The video is lavishing produced with sky-high production values.
