For the past two weeks, it looked like Bindi Irwin, the “Wonder From Down Under,” was going to run away with this season’s competition.
The daughter of late celebrity wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin was electrifying. But Braxton and Chmerkovskiy responded with a high-energy routine of their own.
They performed the Charleston to “Living In New York City” by Robin Thicke for the second round of “Hometown Glory Night.”
“You were so dynamic.” gushed judge Bruno Tonioli. “That was so uplifting, so energizing.”
Tamar and Val just edged out former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and pro dancer Sharna Burgess. Tamar and Val scored a 25 out of 30 from the judges.
Bindi and her pro partner Derek Hough danced the waltz to “Only a Man” and scored an impressive 23.
