Katie is best known for her Dawson’s role as Joey Potter, the love interest of Dawson Leery, the show’s featured character played by James Van Der Beek.
The teen drama lasted six seasons (1998-2003), and became a cult classic. Katie spent a number of years battling typecasting as the wholesomely sweet teen. But that was then.
She’s gone on to appear in 18 movies, more than one a year, and four other television shows or made-for-television movies. Her portrayal of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the 2011 mini-series “The Kennedys” was controversial.
Katie appeared in two films this year and voiced another.
She starring in “Woman in Gold,” a British drama about a Holocaust survivor. She sues the Austrian government to recover a Gustav Klimt painting of her aunt that had been stolen by the Nazis.
She also stars in drama, “Touched with Fire,” about two bipolar poets who meet in a psychiatric hospital and fall in love. She plays opposite Luke Kirby.
In her Ocean Drive interview, Katie is asked about widespread interest in a “Dawson’s Creek” reunion special.
“[It] was such a special time in all of our lives [but] some things are better when it stays the way it was. I would love to get together with everybody… I’m not sure a reunion would be as fulfilling as what we all want it to be. [But] I’m game for anything.”
Photographer Guy Aroch was behind the lens for the shoot. Katie wears Kenzo, Stella McCartney and Zac Posen.
