Pippa’s only connection to royalty is through her sister Kate, who married Harry’s brother Prince William. So she’s Harry’s sister-in-law.
Until the tabloid story broke today, the two have never been linked romantically, much less photographed together, outside of the royal wedding and official functions.
If they were dating, it stands to reason a UK publication, not an American publication would break the story.
What’s more, both have openly dated other people. OK put them together by using the usual tabloid fakery. It quoted anonymous sources who somehow were willing to spill to the tabloid. The relationship, of course, was a close secret known only to a few insiders.
The magazine even went so far as to publish a cover photo of Harry and Pippa in bathing suits. The image strongly suggests they took a romantic holiday together.
In reality, the photo is a composite. Two separate photos were digitally altered to make it seem like one.
To hid evidence it was doctored, the photo was artfully covered with a screaming headline: “Caught.”
The story goes on to claim the couple has been secretly dating for “three months.” They were known only to William and Kate and a few palace insiders.
Until recently, Middleton was dating Nico Jackson. The couple recently split. Harry has been without a steady girlfriend for some time. Instead, he’s been enmeshed in official duties.
“Things have since gotten much more serious,” writes the tabloid, “and she’s spent the night on more than one occasion.”
It ponied up an anonymous source to confirm the claim. “It’s very easy for her to sneak in and out of the palace. Harry just sends one of his bodyguards to pick her up, and then she ducks down in the backseat so the paparazzi don’t spot her,” the source said.
The palace has not released an official statement and is unlikely to. It routinely does not comment on tabloid speculation.
But most of the British media is discounting the story.
