“X-Men: Apocalypse” mutants will face off against a new villain. But he looks like a jazzed-up version of the Tin Man from the “Wizard of Oz.” Oscar Isaac plays the villainous, En Sabah Nur, aka Apocalypse. If he only had a heart.

The new movie reunites Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkhölme, aka Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy, aka the Beast and Olivia Munn as Elizabeth Braddock aka Psylocke.

Michael Fassbender also returns as Erik Lehnsherr, aka Magneto, with James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier, aka Professor X. Rose Byrne returns as CIA Agent Moira MacTaggert from “X-Men: First Class.”

But Isaac steals the trailer as Apocalypse. According to his back story, he’s been worshiped since the dawn of humankind. His powers are so vast, he’s not only invincible, but also immortal.

He even wakes up from a deep sleep just like the Tin Man. (Hey, who oiled him?) He thinks humans have made a mess of the world, so he decides to just start over from scratch. He’ll rule afterward, of course.

If he’s so powerful, why does he need to recruit other mutants? Apparently even he can only multi-task so much. He’s joined by a cadre of other evil mutants, including Magneto. He’s become disillusioned with humankind, too.

It’s up to Raven, Professor X and a team of young X-Men (and women) to stop the baddest nemesis they’ve ever faced and save Oz from the evil witch. Wait, wrong movie. Make that to save humans from complete destruction.
