It’s hard to believe that traveling by air used to be fun. These days it’s a tense and frustrating experience, whether its crowded airports, tight security or surly flight attendants given to jumping down emegency chutes double fisting beers.
Since the video surfaced on YouTube last week, it has gone viral, logging more than 5.1 million views during the past five days.
The beyond hot flight attendants do their safety thing to Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” and Perry’s “California Gurls”
“Cebu Pacific has always been known as a fun airline,” Candice Iyog, the airline’s vice president for marketing and distribution, says in an interview with GMA News of the Philippines.
“We were looking for something new and different, to show that flight safety doesn’t have to be boring.”
Iyog adds the airline even hired professional choreographers to help the attendants perfect their routine.
“We knew that the performances would be well received, but we didn’t expect them to be this popular,” Iyog said.
Of course, Cebu Pacific is probably not very high up on any terrorist’s hijacking list.
But as the old adage goes, every time you try to do something different, someone will always be waiting to take a bite out of your ass.
In this case, the Flight Attendants and Stewards Association of the Philippines (FASAP) opposes the dancing and singing because it “stereotypes” flight attendants in a negative sexist way.
So enjoy the video while you still can.
