Cameron Diaz Jumps On Celebrity Health, Wellness Kick (watch!)

Cameron Diaz is the latest Hollywood actress to jump on the celebrity health and wellness bandwagon. She offered up her prescription for a long, healthy life on ABC’s “Good Morning America” today (Apr. 5), and seems to be taking a common sense approach to aging.

Of course, she was also on the show to promote “The Longevity Book,” her latest contribution to a long list of celebrity health and fitness products.

Dia turns 44 in August this year, so she is already past the magical mystery age of 40, when most Hollywood actresses are considered over the hill. But several top actresses have proven age isn’t necessarily a barrier to good roles.

A slew of stars from Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock Julianne Moore, Judi Dench and Uma Thurman, to Catherine Zeta-Jones and Diaz herself are still basking in the limelight.

Diaz told GMA hosts Lara Spencer and Amy Robach her prescription is pretty simple.

“There’s no secret to aging well… It’s how well you live, how well you take care of yourself. There’s five pillars to well-being: It’s good nutrition, good movement of the body, good night’s sleep, stress-release, and meaningful, connected relationships.”

Diaz said she was motivated to write the book, her second, because she was frequently asked about what it was like turning 40 in our youth-oriented culture. “Why should I be afraid?” she said she asked herself.

“There’s only one thing happening if you’re not aging, and it ain’t so fun.” (OMG! Does she mean dead!)

“I’m so excited to continue the conversation because learning that you can age well, will actually help you age better,” Diaz wrote on an Instagram post, promoting the show.

“If you understand how your body works then you can take action to help keep it in the best possible condition so it can carry you through a long and beautiful life.”
