Emilia Clarke is taking a stand on the rampant and sometimes gratuitous amount of nudity in her hit HBO series “Games of Thrones.” She wants more of it–for the men in the show. Emilia has done a fair share herself. Will Kit Harington please stand up?

Clarke appeared on Conan O’Brien last night to promote the show’s upcoming Season 6.

During the interview, she declared that it is time to “free the penis!”

“I think there should be more equal nudity,” Clarke explained.

“There’s plenty of female nudity, myself included, and I think it should be a bit more of a discussion that we get more equal male nudity and female nudity.”

Clarke said the men should just have to show their butts every now and then. She demanded the full Monty. Oh… replied sidekick Andy Richter, you mean “Game of Bones.”

Sounds like an idea the show’s producers would embrace, but how about the actors? And would viewers really want to see Stanis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) naked.

Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, might be another matter.

Clarke’s character has been naked, typically from the waist up in numerous episodes. She reportedly told the show’s director three years ago that she refused to appear in future nude scenes, according to her co-star Oona Chaplin.

She reportedly said she “wanted to be known for my acting, not my breasts.”

But in an Instagram post last September she clarified her position.

“In drama, if a nude scene forwards a story or is shot in a way that adds insight into characters, I’m perfectly fine with it. Sometimes explicit scenes are required and make sense for the characters/story, as they do in Westeros.

Clarke said not everyone is a fan of her stand on male nudity, including her mother. “I have to stop talking about it,” she said before shouting out “free the penis!”

Season 6 premieres April 24 on HBO. Check out the latest trailer here and Clark’s stunning photos and her remarks below.
