Amal Clooney, Kirsten Dunst, Jessica Chastain and other top celebs all seem to have gotten the memo on this year’s hot red carpet color at the 69th Cannes Film Festival. Dresses and gowns in gold, or shades thereof, were everywhere, adding radiance, a touch of spring and sunny elegance to the proceedings.
Amal who made an appearance with husband George Clooney at the premiere of his movie “Money Monster,” wore an Atelier Versace, off-the-shoulder chiffon gown.
The the light yellow color is considered fashion forward for spring/summer.
Heidi Klum wore an almost identical shade at amfAR’s 2016 Cinema Against AIDS Gala at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France. She wore a Versace gown with a plunging neckline and sharp, thigh-high split.
Jessica also was vibrant in a similar color at the “Cafe Society” premiere on opening night. The strapless Armani Prive mermaid gown combined Golden Era Hollywood style with classical pleating and a run-away train.
Kirsten opted for a slightly deeper shade when she appeared at Jury Photocall at the Cannes Palais des Festivals. Her dress by Dior was casual. It had a blouse-like top and a skirt that extended just below the knee.
Later Kirsten chose and even deeper gold color for the premiere of “The Neon Demon.” The canary yellow Maison Margiela gown was accented with lace appliques. It hugged her hips before flaring into a floor-sweeping train.
Anna Kendrick appeared at the premiere of her film, ‘Trolls,’ wearing a fitted Stella McCartney gown that was close in color to Kirsten’s gown.
