Selena Gomez released her “Kill Em With Kidness” video today. It’s remarkable because it’s basically a sensual self-portrait. She’s the center of attention throughout. There’s no dancing, no storyline. Just her in black and white.
But that’s more than enough. Selena smolders in lingerie and tosses around her thick dark hair, which tumbles around her shoulders and whisks across her face.
She shows plenty of thigh and arches her back seductively while basically seated in front of a gray screen. At one point she puts on a leggy model walk down a hallway in some very ritzy looking rooms.
The action is left up to back-up dancers, who take over the video about halfway through. But Selena isn’t gone for long. She’s back and now she’s running down the same long hall.
Selena has plenty of sizzle without a lot of atmospherics. The minimalist video was directed by Emil Nava
“Kill Em With Kindness” is one of the lesser known tracks from her Revival album. It was preceded by “Good For You,” “Same Old Love,” and “Hands To Myself,” all of which have charted. “Kill Em” hasn’t yet.
Selena is currently on the road as part of her “Revival Tour.”
