It’s not often a “tourist” pulls up to the White House, gets a Secret Service shakedown only to find the first lady popping into your car.
Ok, that would never happen in real life. But, hey, this is the “Late, Late Show.”
The show teased Obama’s appearance a few days ago and aired the clip last night.
“Hey there. I hear you’re hear for a 1:45 tour,” she says, jumping into Cordon’s SUV while he feigns astonishment. “You’re a special guest and I had a few minutes, so…”
“This is crazy,” the affable host exclaimed before embarking on the 14-minute ride.
As they drove past the White House, Michelle asked Cordon to put on some music. Before long, they were grooving to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.”
Michelle did’t miss a beat.
Amid some light banter, Michelle said she would miss the people the most, but is looking forward to “the freedom” after seven and a half years luxuriating. “I can make a mean grilled cheese sandwich.”
Then, they broke into Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.”
“We were in the honey making lemonade,” the First Lady exclaimed.
Michelle talked about her new initiative to encourage girls around the world to stay in school. She revealed her plans to travel to Morocco, Liberia and Spain to promote the effort and she’s using “Snapchat” to “hook them in.”
That led to a rendition of “This Is For My Girls.”
Midway through the song, rap pioneer Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott popped into the car to sing along, including a rendition of her big rap hit, “Get Ur Freak On.”
Michelle showed off some serious skills.
