Celine Dion, the French Canadian singing sensation, poured her heart out in a “Today” show summer concert, singing four hits for the Rockefeller Centre crowd. Celine is still rebounding from the death of her husband in January.
Husband René Angélil died from cancer six months ago, leaving behind Celine and their three children.
René-Charles, 15, and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy are doing fine, she said.
“They know what’s going on. They know that dad is not coming back. They know that they have to live with him, but differently,” the 48-year-old singer said in an interview.
“It’s all about feeling very strong and positive. They sense it. They sense that mom is okay,” she added.
Husband René, who was 73 when he died, suffered from cancer for three years before finally losing his battle.
“René always insisted the show must go on,” she said.
“You know what, I’m 48 years old and I lost the love of my life. I miss him a lot from when he was great but not when he was suffering. I cannot be selfish. You have to let people go. I feel at peace,” she added.
