Glee Girl-Girl Make Out Reeks of Sexual Politics (watch)

Glee Girl-Girl Make Out Reeks of Sexual Politics (watch) 1On the heels of a parental protest over Glee’s racy Britney Spears episode, the Fox show went one step further last night (Oct. 12) with a hot girl-on-girl scene. Santana (Naya Rivera) and Brittany (Heather Morris) get it on. What would Bill O’Reilly say?

Fox is promoting the show with the slogan, “So Bold, So Brash, So Fox,” and this week’s action is a stunning follow-up to the Spears episode, last week, which provoked protests by a conservative parents’ group.

The latest episode, however, is laden with sexual politics, and ultimately sends a negative message about lesbianism.

A homosexual relationship between the two characters has been suggested in previous episodes.

In fact, a scene in the Britney Show between Santana and Brittany, recreating the “Me Against The Music video,” was singled out by the conservative Parents Television Council over “plenty of girl-girl bumping and grinding.”

Britney originally performed the song with Madonna.

In another episode, Brittany says: “If sex were dating, me and Santana would be dating.”

But this time there’s no mistake about what’s going on.

Brittany says, “Oh, sweet lady kisses,” after Santana nuzzles her neck.

Santana replies: “It’s a nice break from all that scissoring,” a clear reference to a lesbian sex position.

But in a bow to conservative values, Santana heads for the door when Brittany suggests a duet at Glee Club of Melissa Etheridge’ssong, “Come To My Window,” which is about a lesbian rendezvous.

“I’m not making out with you because I’m in love with you and want to sing about making lady babies,” Santana retorts, clearly suggesting that lesbianism is a fling, not a lifestyle.

To drive home the point, Santana adds that she is only making out with her because Puck is in juvenile detention and she “needs something warm beneath [her] to digest [her] food.”

Sounds like a major blow-off, suggesting that a lesbian relationship is incapable of deeper love.

The scene also stops at hugging and nuzzling and avoids full on-the-lips kissing. What would Ellen say?
