Charlie Sheen’s reps are in overdrive trying to blame the actor’s latest bizarre behavior on an allergic reaction to medication, but his actions leading up to his arrest suggest he may be suicidal.
In the latest episode of self-destructive behavior police were called to the ritzy Plaza Hotel in New York, and found the actor naked and profoundly intoxicated, the New York Post reported.
A law enforcement official confirmed that Sheen was hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation after a woman, an alleged hooker, told police he was throwing furniture in his room early this morning (Oct. 26).
Sheen, 45, reportedly “trashed” the room and damaged an expensive chandelier.
Sheen reportedly as with a call girl, and began trashing his suite after learning he’d lost his wallet and cellphone, authorities told the Post.
The escort reportedly called police after Sheen passed out on the bed, apparently fearful about his health.
Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards, was staying in a separate room at the Eloise Suite on the 18th floor, sources told the Post, and is not thought to have been involved in the incident.
Life & Style magazine reported that the woman was screaming inside a locked closet. “She was fearing for her life and was naked,” a source told the web site.
“Charlie was incoherent but started screaming slurs at the cops. They recognized him immediately and gave him two options: they could take him to the hospital or take him down to the station. Charlie chose the hospital.”
The “Two and a Half Men” actor entered the plea to a misdemeanor assault charge last August in court in Aspen after a row with then wife Brook Mueller.
In return, prosecutors dropped a felony menacing charge. Sheen was sent to rehab and ordered to attend anger management classes.
In all, Sheen was sentenced to 30 days in a California rehabilitation center, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management.
Sheen was in the upscale resort town on Christmas Day 200 9 when he got into a drunken argument with his wife that ended in his arrest.
