Supermodel Elle Macpherson showcased her sizzling bikini body on Instagram and proved the fountain of youth really does exist: in diet and exercise.
Macpherson, who was nicknamed “The Body” at the height of her supermodel stardom in the 1980s and 1990s, credits a healthy diet and an active lifestyle for her ageless physique at 52.
Elle’s bikini fitness secrets are the alkaline diet and daily exercise that includes yoga, cardio exercise, and strength training Celebrity Health Fitness reported.
Macpherson swears the alkaline diet got rid of bloating, dry skin, belly fat and mood swings.
The alkaline diet is a mostly vegan diet that includes plenty of fresh green vegetables, fruits, beans, lentils, spices, seeds and nuts.
The theory is that eating a diet high in alkaline-producing foods will minimize acid buildup in our bodies (which fuels inflammation, aging, and weight gain).
Elle’s alkaline diet excludes red meat, red meat, caffeine, wheat and alcohol.
When you ingest too many acidic foods, your pH levels get disrupted, causing weight gain and disease, said Dr Stephan Domenig, author of The Alkaline Cure.
The alkaline diet can transform your body and mind so you can embrace total health and well-being, said Marta Tuchowska, author of How to Lose Massive Weight with the Alkaline Diet.
Other celebrities who follow the Alkaline Diet include Kelly Ripa, Victoria Beckham and Kate Hudson.
Elle Macpherson said she’s able to easily maintain her hot supermodel body without starving herself.
Macpherson also exercises every day, doing a combination of yoga, running, swimming, hiking, and cycling.
Another supermodel who has aged remarkably well is Christie Brinkley, who credits a vegan diet for her insane bikini body at 62, as TheImproper has reported.
While Elle Macpherson looks incredible because she eats well and works out, she sticks to her healthy lifestyle because it makes her feel great.
“I can’t ever remember doing something physical and feeling worse,” said Macpherson.
