Donald Trump has no one to blame but himself–and Howard Stern–for his campaign meltdown. The radio shock jock’s obsession with sexual depravity is playing a major role in the unraveling of Trump’s presidential bid over allegations of sexual impropriety and general boorishness.

Trump, the GOP president nominee, was a frequent guest on Stern’s radio show during the 1990s and early 2000s. It was great theater.

As with most guests, Stern artfully steered the conversation to sex every time Trump was on. And the boastful mogul was only too glad to oblige with titillating tales about his exploits.

That may have made for great radio. But his words are coming back to haunt him now that he is running to become leader of the free world.

The can of worms was opened when The Washington Post, published an audio tape of a 2005 conversation between Trump and television presenter Billy Bush, then a co-host of the entertainment show “Access Hollywood.”

In the conversation, picked up by an open mic, Trump bragged about how celebrity entitlement allowed him to hit on women without repercussions.

“When you’re a star, they let you do it,” he boasted.

“Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything,” he crowed.

Trump also bragged about trying to seduce a married woman… without luck.

“I did try and f-ck her. She was married,” Trump said.

“I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’”

At the time, Trump was newly married to his third and current wife Melania.

During the second presidential debate, Trump tried to minimize the scandal by calling the conversation “locker room talk.” He insisted he never acted on his words.

But since then, a number of women have come forward to say otherwise, including Miss Teen USA contestants. They recounted how Trump walked into their dressing rooms while they were changing, and in some cases, naked.

Before Trump had a chance to deny the claims, CNN produced an audio tape of the GOP candidate bragging to shock-jock Howard Stern about… you guessed it, walking into contestants’ dressing rooms.

He told Stern that owning the Miss Universe pageant allowed him to “get away with” walking into dressing room while the women were naked.

In his own words:

“Well, I’ll tell you the funniest is that before a show, I’ll go backstage and everyone’s getting dressed, and everything else, and you know, no men are anywhere, and I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it. You know, I’m inspecting because I want to make sure that everything is good.”

Yeah, right.

Tasha Dixon, Miss Arizona 2001, recounted to KCBS-TV how Trump walked in on her.

“Our first introduction to him was when we were at the dress rehearsal and half naked changing into our bikinis,” she said.

Four other women who competed in the 1997 Miss Teen USA beauty pageant also said Trump walked in on them when they were changing, according to BuzzFeed.

But that’s not all.

During another Stern interview, Trump called former Miss Universe Alicia Machado an “eating machine.”

She went public with her experience and appeared in a Hillary Clinton campaign ad, prompting a right-wing smear campaign.

In Yet another Stern interview, Trump said he supported the Iraq War, something he vehemently denied during both debates.

Also on Stern’s show, Trump said it’s “hard to be a 10” if a woman is flat-chested and said avoiding sexually transmitted diseases was his “personal Vietnam.”

In all, Trump appeared two dozen times in the 1990s and early 2000s, according to BuzzFeed and The HuffingtonPost.

At this stage of the presidential race, he must regret every one of them. But don’t look for him to apologize.
