Miley Cyrus has taken her new image on the road with her first live performance of her new, acoustically driven song, ‘Malibu,’at KIIS-FM’s Wango Tango in California. The performance followed the release of a video for the song last week.
Miley has completely revamped her image from her wild child days of her Bangerz Tour in 2015.
Her notoriety exploded following her risque duet with the much-older Robin Thicke at the 2013 “MTV Video Music Awards.” Her wild run culminated with her worldwide Bangerz Tour in 2014 and Dead Petz album in 2015.
Now she’s gone back to her country and roots music past.
At the show, she dressed in a white crop top and whits shorts. Pastel balloons have become a symbol of the song and dozens of them covered the stage. She didn’t flash her crotch once.
Miley also sang her pop anthem “We Can’t Stop” and a cover of Dolly Parton’s country hit “Jolene.”
“Malibu” is the first single from Miley’s upcoming, but still-untitled album.
Judging by her new song, the album will be a significant departure from her last album, 2015’s Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, a collaboration with the Flaming Lips.
Miley’s change in direction also comes following the renewal of her relationship with Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth.
