Christie Brinkley’s Bikini Body Secrets at 63: Vegetarian Diet, Cardio Workouts

Christie Brinkley is a stone-fox at age 63, and still has a supermodel bikini body after three kids.

Brinkley—who first covered the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 1979—appeared in another sizzling photo spread in February 2017, this time with her daughters Sailor Brinkley-Cook and Alexa Ray Joel.

Christie said her anti-aging beauty secrets are a vegetarian diet, cardio cycling workouts, yoga and calisthenics.

“I am a vegetarian but an aspiring vegan,” Brinkley told Health. “I try not to eat too much animal product. My diet is mainly fresh fruit and vegetables, grains, and beans.”

Vegan and vegetarian diets have many anti-aging health and weight loss benefits, said Dr. David Katz, director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center.

“A diet of minimally processed foods close to nature — predominantly plants — is decisively associated with health promotion and disease prevention,” said Dr. Katz, author of Disease-Proof.

Obesity expert Dr. Neal Barnard agreed. “Studies suggest that free radicals [toxic molecules that form in the body] contribute to aging,” Barnard wrote in his book, the 21-Day Weight Loss Kickstart. “A vegan diet is full of antioxidants which help protect the body from damage by free radicals.”

While daily exercise helps Christie Brinkley look great, she also works out because it keeps her healthy and mentally fit.

“I exercise because I want to have healthy joints and be able to ski with my kids,” she said. “Feeling good is looking good, and that can translate to an energy you exude.”

Christie is a fan of yoga and cardio cycling workouts, and sometimes takes SoulCycle, Peloton and Flywheel classes.

“It’s a way to kick your metabolism into high gear while having fun,” Brinkley said. “I also have a fat-tire bike that I ride on beaches and trails. Some days the only free time I have to exercise is while I’m drying my hair, so I do lunges and squats.”

Brinkley’s anti-aging beauty secrets include sunscreen, laser skin treatments, and vitamin supplements, as TheImproper previously reported.

“I take vitamins like Biosil for my hair, skin and nails,” Christie said.

Christie Brinkley shared her beauty secrets in her bestseller, “Timeless Beauty.”

Christie also exfoliates and moisturizes her skin every day to slough off dead cells and promote cell turnover. Brinkley said the most important beauty secret is a positive attitude.

“Attitude plays a huge part in how you feel,” said Christie, who detailed her fitness and health secrets in Timeless Beauty. “Nothing looks better on you than happiness, and that’s in your own hands.”
