Bristol Palin has been at the bottom of the Dancing With the Stars leaderboard so much, everything must look like up to her. But she miraculously survived yet another round, outlasting even Kate Gosselin as a contestant whose departure is long overdue.
Instead former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner and dance partner Anna Trebunskaya were ousted from the show.
He had consistently scored higher than Palin.
The daughter of failed GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, was dead last again last night, although her performances have been perking up as of late.
The 20-year-old single mother of one had said he dance routine would be “scandalous” this week, causing momma Palin to fret she might do a lap dance. Instead it was the Tango.
At this stage of the game, Palin and dance partner Mark Ballas are up against virtual pros.
Actress Jennifer Grey of Dirty Dancing fame, and R&B singer Brandy were tied after last night’s performance, and are closely followed by Disney star Kyle Massey.
Brandy’s professional dance partner Maksim Chermkovskiy continued his spat with judge Carrie Ann Inaba.
She directly criticized him for not involving Brandy more in their cha-cha, causing Maskim to fume. He later apologized for losing his “cool.”
For her part, Carrie Ann attempted to smooth ruffled feathers “[To all the pros] I’ve always respected all of you. I hope that you will let it go,” she said at the show’s close.
If Palin survives another round over that level of competition the show’s credibility will be called into question once again.
On last season’s show, a wooden and clearly out of place Gosselin survived for weeks, even though her skills were clearly lacking.
But the show is partly a popularity contest, and a contestant with a big fan base can outlast more competent dancers.
Plus momma Palin has been making regular appearances on the show, which is, no doubt, helping with the ratings.
