Singer Bret Michaels has denied poisoning Miley Cyrus’s family by having an affair with her mother, Tish Cyrus. The rumor circulated after husband Billy Ray Cyrus abruptly filed for divorce, ending a 17-year marriage.
But the Poison frontman, who recently survived a brain hemorrhage, insisted on Fox & Friends that his friendship with the couple goes back years and claims he had an affair with Tish are false.
“The answer is no,” he said flatly on the show.
Michaels said the whispers about his relationship with the Tish Cyrus began when he collaborated with Miley in a duet of his hit song, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” earlier this year.
Miley raised eyebrows in February when she sang a seductive song, “Nothing to Lose,” with Michaels, 46. Here’s one verse:
“Tonight in the darkness there’s nothing to lose
We both know better than this, still we can’t resist
Slowly get undressed.”
“[The rumors] started out with me and Miley simply working on a song together,” Michaels explained.
“Her mum, Tish, likes [Poison hit] ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn,’ the first concert Miley ever saw was Poison, and so they wanted to remake it for the new record.”
‘When I was in the studio, Miley came in and sang on my song, a song I wrote for my album Custom Built, and she came over and sang on that and honestly, she did a beautiful job, and that was it,” he said.
“Then they started with all the controversy,” he said.
The couple have three children together – pop star Miley, son Braison Chance and daughter Noah.
Billy Ray adopted Tish’s two children from a previous marriage, Trace, 21, now a singer and guitarist, and Brandi, 23.
He also has a son, Christopher Cody, 18, from a previous relationship with Kristin Luckey.
Michaels, 47, who has two daughters Raine, 10, and Jorja, 5, with girlfriend Kristi Gibson.
