Bethenny Frankel reportedly wants full custody of daughter Bryn, but might have to answer questions about her own character and fitness to be the child’s sole provider.
The “Real Housewives of New York City” star split from husband Jason Hoppy in 2012 after two years of marriage. They currently have a joint custody agreement.
But now she wants to push Hoppy out of their daughter’s life all together, according to Entertainment Tonight.
She appears to have made the move after Hoppy, 47, was arrested in January. He was charged with harassment and stalking for allegedly contacting Frankel repeatedly over email and FaceTime.
In some instances, he reportedly made verbal threats, according to news reports.
After some legal wrangling, he agreed in October to stay away from Frankel in exchange for dismissal of charges, provided he has no further arrests for six months.
“I was experiencing emotional distress and felt hopeless and a little bit, dare I say, depressed,” Frankel said about the continuing divorce struggle.
“I think that was surprising to women because I’m successful, I have a powerful personality and I was going through my own personal crisis,” she added.
Over the course of her career, Frankel has been involved in a number of controversial incidents.
In March, Frankel appeared naked and dabbled in lesbianism during the 9th season of “Real Housewives of New York.”
Two clips went viral last October from a low-budget 1994 soft-core porn picture titled: “Hollywood Hills, 90028.” Frankel appeared topless playing murderer and seductress.
She once denied ever posing nude, which also proved to be untrue.
Although she touts her business acumen, she shocked an audience in April last year with racist and sexist advice to female entrepreneurs who want to go into business.
“Frankel implied that women should have sex with men in exchange for capital and find a white man to “front” their companies, according to reports from the meeting.
