Miriam Weeks caused an uproar at Duke University in 2014 when the freshman student was outed as porn star Belle Knox. Angry alums called for her expulsion, but the school stood behind her. Now, she’s graduated and moved on to law school. So, does Porn pay?

In 2014, Weeks was thrust into the eye of a media storm after she revealed her day-job in a college newspaper interview.

A classmate outed her as a first-year Duke student, and all hell broke loose.

At the time, she said she turned to porn because it paid well and she needed the money to meet Duke’s stiff tuition costs, which are as high as $60,000 a year.

It turned out she was the daughter of a U.S. Army medical doctor and was “raised a devout Roman Catholic in a loving home” in Spokane, Wash. But she also had deep emotional issue and struggled as a youth with depression.

Miriam’s father Kevin Weeks and mother Harcharan, reportedly were unaware of Miriam’s porn job. Her brother and sister reportedly stopped speaking to her.

She didn’t shy away from her past and hit the talk show circuit to talk candidly about her suicidal feelings and financial setbacks. Her story was recently made into a “Lifetime” network movie, “From Straight A’s to XXX.”

Weeks played up her sexual empowerment, saying she loved rough sex and considered it liberating.

“I’ve been called a hypocrite and mocked for daring to talk about empowerment if I have also not kept adequately hidden away my enjoyment of rough and dirty, nasty and filthy, saliva-dripping and name-calling-filled sex,” she wrote.

During her 15 minutes of fame, Weeks also tried her hand as a columnist. She wrote an article in Time magazine, blaming President Obama for high college costs because he “encouraged everyone to go to college.”

She graduated from Duke with a degree in Women’s Studies and Sociology. She’s now enrolled at New York University law school, according to The New York Post.
