Sean Penn has never been known for subtly. He’s written his first novel and it takes a direct shot at a fictional president who is glaringly similar to Donald Trump. Now here’s the kicker: “We are a nation in need of an assassin,” he writes. Whoa!

Someone should tell him threatening the life of the president is a federal crime.

Penn, 57, who is known for screaming at fans in hotel lobbies as well as his generous humanitarian efforts, is publishing “Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff.”

It’s an expanded version of a 2016 audio book he wrote and narrated under the pseudonym Pappy Pariah–with one key difference.

Protagonist Honey writes a letter to the story’s President named Mr. Landlord and it’s a zinger.

It reads:

“Many wonderful American people in pain and rage elected you. Many Russians did, too. Your position is an asterisk accepted as literally as your alternative facts. Though the office will remain real, you never were nor will be. A million women so dwarfed your penis-edency on the streets of Washington and around the world on the day of your piddly inauguration … You are not simply a president of impeachment, you are a man in need of an intervention. We are not simply a people in need of an intervention, we are a nation in need of an assassin … Tweet me bitch, I dare you.”

Needless to say, Penn is an outspoken Trump critic. He called him “an enemy of mankind” in an opinion piece in Time magazine in January.

But Penn doesn’t stop there. He also takes a shot at the #MeToo movement, which has risen out of the ashes of Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s career. Weinstein was brought low by a New York Times expose last November detailing decades of alleged sexual harassment and sexual assaults.

But to Penn, #MeToo is “an infantilizing term of the day.”

“Is this a toddlers’ crusade? Reducing rape, slut-shaming and suffrage to reckless child’s play? A platform for accusation impunity? Due process has lost its sheen?” he writes.

Full disclosure: in 1987 Penn’s then-wife Madonna accused the actor of hitting her with a bat.

Penn, was arrested and charged with felony domestic assault. He later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor. The split not long after.

Penn was also arrested for attempted murder for hanging a paparazzo over his ninth-floor hotel room balcony while filming “Shanghai Surprise” in Macau.

Penn has strenuously denied assaulting Madonna. He filed a $10 million lawsuit two years ago against “Empire” creator Lee Daniels, who dissed Penn for his alleged behavior.

Most recently, Penn has been seen with actress Amber Heard. Whether there is a budding relationship is unknown.
