British Queen in waiting Kate Middleton is already seeing a shrink at the request of the Royal Family to help her cope with the pressures that drove Princess Diana into bouts of deep depression.
Middleton is also reportedly taking lessons in etiquette and protocol to smooth out her, rough middle-class edges so she can fit in with Royal Family members, according to London’s Daily Mail.
Princess Diana felt abandoned and unloved by husband, Prince Charles, within months of their wedding and ultimately lapsed into depression over her feelings of isolation.
The couple ended up in a bitter divorce, after Charles fell into the arms of a former lover, Camilla Parker-Bowles, who became his wife after Diana died.
Prince William, who wants to avoid the mistakes his mother and father made, is insisting that Kate get “training sessions” to cope with Royal life and undergo preventive counseling.
“Kate is so nervous she is having counseling organized by the Royal Family to help her, not just in etiquette but in the coping process of William having something else much more important than his future wife, a royal source told the newspaper.
“Kate, as a new and vulnerable bride, is deemed to need a lot of help with that. The royals are desperate not to have another downward spiral of a marriage and they feel Kate has very vulnerable and soft spots,” the source said.
