Taylor Swift Holiday Music Season

Black Friday kicked off the holiday shopping season and top artists from Taylor Swift to Susan Boyle, Kid Rock, Rihanna, Josh Groban, Rascal Flatts and Kanye West were ready with new releases.

Like most merchandise, music posts its biggest sales during the holiday season, as fans stock up on gifts, or as for their favorite music for Christmas.

This year offers a stellar line up of both veteran and new artists.

Nicki Minaj, and Ke$ha are among new artists releasing new albums, making it one of the most eagerly anticipated holiday shopping seasons in the last few years.

Minaj’s Pink follows a year in which she worked on her cred with a series of features and her own hit “Your Love,” according to MTV.

She’s the most anticipated female rap artist since Missy Elliott.

Among veterans, My Chemical Romance’s The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys has gotten good buzz thanks to their single “Na Na Na.”

They have been out of circulation since 2006’s The Black Parade,, so they have a lot of ground to catch up as the reach out to their fan base.

Rihanna’s Loud is also making waves and should see solid sales along with Kid Rock’s Born Free.

Swift, Eminem, Lil Wayne are looking for a second wind from holiday sales after debuting earlier this year.

Ne-Yo could also see solid sales with his album Libra Scale after months of working singles to radio.

Ke$ha’s Cannibal has a heavily dance oriented which should appeal to younger music fans.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z, Pink are releasing greatest hits albums; the reissue of Nine Inch Nails’ debut, Pretty Hate Machine; a Jimi Hendrix box set; Bruce Springsteen’s The Promise archival set; the “Burlesque” soundtrack and Justin Bieber’s My World acoustic set will all be competing for attention.

In upcoming releases a Christmas-themed “Glee” soundtrack hits Nov. 30 along with the Black Eyed Peas, “The Beginning.”

T.I.’s No Mercy drops Dec. 14, and from the grave Michael Jackson’s album Michael,debuts, with never before heard tracks, and not a little controversy. Is it really him?

“American Idol” season-nine runner-up Crystal Bowersox will make her major-label debut, Farmer’s Daughter; veteran R. Kelly’s releases Love Letter and Ciara’s new album “Basic Instinct” will drop.
