“Avengers Endgame” new trailer kicks off with Tony Stark, aka Ironman, in some deep sh*t. He’s floating in space. Food and water gone; air almost exhausted and no chance of rescue.
Stark stares forlornly at the mask to his Iron Man suit before poignantly switching it off.
“when I drift off, I will dream about you,” he says, pointing at his mask. Does he mean Pepper Potts, or his Iron Man suit?
Meanwhile, back on earth things aren’t going so well either. The Avengers are holed up at Stark headquarters pondering their future.
Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, (Chris Evans), Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and late arrival by Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man (Paul Rudd).
The film is also the first time Captain Marvel, (Brie Larson) joins the group, although she doesn’t appear in the trailer.
“Avengers Endgame” is the direct sequel to 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” as well as 2012’s “Marvel’s The Avengers” and 2015’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
The Disney’s Marvel Studios picture hits theaters in April 2019, according to Deadline.
In the last film, the Avengers were caught between a rock and a hard place. Thanos (Josh Brolin) erased half of the world’s population, among them Spider-Man (Tom Holland). Now it looks as Tony is the next to go.
“He did exactly what he said he would do,” says Natasha in a voice over. “He wiped out 50 percent of all the world’s creatures.”
“We lost, all of us,” Thor laments in another voice over. “we lost friends, we lost family, we lost part of ourselves.”
“This is the fight of our lives.”
The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by the writing team of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
