Donald Trump deals have been big frauds, but he’s a sterling success on reality television. So why not negotiate an end to the government shutdown in a format he understands? Let’s play “Deal or No Deal!”
Donald Trump deals have been a bust more than once. He’s gone bankrupt five or six times–we’ve lost count–and he’s been forced to close a slew of his other side businesses. But in the world of fiction and Reality TV, Donald Trump deals are always golden.
Trump (aka Alec Baldwin) was a contestant on the game show last night (Jan. 19) in “Saturday Night Live’s” premiere cold open.
Steve Harvey (Kenan Thompson) hosts, but forget the leggy models opening cases. That job goes to members of Congress.
Nancy Pelosi (Kate McKinnon), Chuck Schumer (Alex Moffat), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Melissa Villaseñor) and Maxine Waters (Leslie Jones) squared off against the president.
“Our government has been shut down now for like a month and yestereday, I spent two hours at TSA in Atlanta. They thought I was sumggling extra teeth in my mouth,” said Harvey.
“So let’s bring out the guy who said he would own the shutdown. He’s the president, and we both got neckties long enough they can get caught in the rumba.”
“Ok, now earlier today you went on TV and you told the American people you want to make a deal. So we decided to do this in the only format you can understand; a TV game show with women holding brief cases,” Harvey said opening the show.
It goes downhill from there. Check out the video below.
