Superstar singer Celine Dion has pulled an Angelina Jolie and has been photographed with her new-born twin boys on the cover of Canadian edition of Hello! Canada. Jolie famously posed with her twins, Knox and Vivienne on the cover of People.
Celine, 42, was pictured in bed wearing a white robe, while fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson swaddled wearing white pajamas.
She is holding one baby and the the other is at her side.
One baby is named after Eddy Marnay, who produced the singer’s first five records. The other twin is named after South African leader Nelson Mandela, whom she met while touring the country.
Neither has the controversial smile that one of Jolie’s twins displayed in their cover photo. The smile was widely believed to have been photoshopped onto the child. Infants are typically incapable of smiling.
Celine’s twins were born Saturday, Oct. 23. The Canadian singer also has son Rene Charles, 9, with long-time husband Rene Angelil.
“I don’t know how women do it,” she tells the magazine. “Every day René asks, ‘Did you sleep well?’ I’m like, ‘You must be kidding! There is no sleep!’ ”
Dion and her twins are featured in a 20-page pictorial spread in the magazine.
“I nurse both babies at the same time. . . . I’m in my pajamas until lunchtime and there’s no time to shower,” she says.
Dion had been undergoing several rounds of in vitro fertilization in an effort to get pregnant and finally conceived on her sixth attempt.
“It was a very emotional moment, and even though we didn’t speak to each other, we were both thinking about the time it took,” Angelil said. “We are very lucky, very priviledged and very fortunate to have these boys.”
Dion is expected to resume her Las Vegas shows March 15, said Angelil, who doubles as her manager.
