Johnny Depp looked a little worse for wear on David Letterman last night (Dec. 8), but proved to be an engaging guest. He dished on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, talked about his paramour Vanessa Pardis and did a mean Al Pacino impersonation.
The 47-year-old actor has been in New York promoting his movie “The Tourist, which co-stars Jolie. The movie premiered on Monday.
Depp was a stark contrast to Letterman, who is always impeccable dressed in a suit and tie.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star wore scruffy blue jeans and denim shirt with an ill-matching coat, equally ill-matching houndstooth vest and several scarves.
Eyebrows were raised when it was announced that he would be working with Angelina on “The Tourist,” because of her reputation of a maneater.
But Depp said they both were cool about the love scenes. “She’s a very sweet, grounded, down to earth sweet funny girl,” he said. “She’s normal.”
In fact the two couples and their children spent some family time together on location, and Depp revealed that he was even roped into watching Angelina’s and Brad Pitt’s bulldog for an evening.
“The only problem was that the dog reeks,” he said. “He absolutely stinks real bad.”
Depp said Jacques also got a little forward. “He was prepared to have his way with me,” he explained.
Depp said he, Paradis and children Lily-Rose, 11, and eight-year-old Jack have been spending a lot of time on the road, but still mainly call France their home. Both kids are fluent in French.
“They’re able to go back and forth so quickly,” he said. “I get stuck in situations where I have to speak French and my kids have to correct me and make fun of me!”
Depp also did a rockin Al Pacino impersonation. Check it out:
