Taylor Momsen's Pretty Reckless Shout Out Riles Scotland

Taylor Momsen's Pretty Reckless Shout Out Riles Scotland 1Taylor Momsen , the snooty “Gossip Girl” turned musician, tries to act like a worldly know-it-all, but apparently she has trouble telling which country she’s in — on the tiny isle of Great Britain.

Momsen was performing in Glasgow with her band “The Pretty Reckless” on Dec. 13, when she shouted out pretty recklessly: “Glasgow you are looking good tonight.

“We are The Pretty Reckless and we have heard Glasgow is the craziest crowd in all of England.”

England?

Talk about a buzz kill. The comment drew jeers and boos from the riled crowd, according to reports.

“The noise from the crowd was deafening. People began to cheer as they presumed she was going to say Scotland, but when the penny dropped (when they realized) all you could hear was boos,” concert goer Paul Krane told Scotland’s Daily Record newspaper.

Hard to tell what Momsen thought about the ruckus, but she didn’t even know what she had said until someone told her after the show.

At least she was contrite enough to apologize on Twitter.

“Glasgow, I love you, I now Have to tour Scotland (haha, sorry about the slip up!).”

Scotland fought a bloody war for independence against England that lasted more than 30 years (1296–1328) that gave rise to rebels Andrew Moray and William Wallace.

It also produced the Declaration of Arbroath, which was precursor to the Declaration of Independence in the United States.

To say that Glasgow is part of England is a major insult to the Scottish people.

Meanwhile, Momsen is now stranded in Germany after bad weather canceled flights. She tweets: “Trapped by snow, flight cancelled… I guess it’s another night in Germany!”

While she’s there, she might want to pick up a book and learn a little bit about the countries she’s touring. Or at least Google for god’s sake.

Or, she can make it easy on herself and have one of her flunkies rent Mel Gibson’s 1995 movie “Braveheart.”
