Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are headed for a “phenomenal” meltdown, according to pop psychiatrist Drew Pinsky, who predicts the break up will be like a nuclear explosion, because the couple has so many volatile issues.
Pinsky, a celebrity psychiatrist who stars in the cable television show, “Celebrity Rehab,” singles out Jolie’s alleged past heroin addiction as a “huge problem” in the relationship.
Pinsky subscribes to the view that once an addict, always an addict.
“There’s no such thing as ‘I was a heroin addict.’ That doesn’t exist in nature. Something is going on with [her] addiction. Or she’s in recovery,” he said in an interview with the Huffington Post. “And I don’t see any evidence that’s the case.
“So we’ve got one person who’s a heroin addict. Which is a chronic lifelong condition, period,” said Pinsky, 52, who happens to be promoting a new talk show called “Dr. Drew.”
The other melting point, Pinsky said, is Pitt’s relationship to ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
“We have another person who has said things like, ‘Well, Jennifer [Aniston] was into long-term relationships, that’s just her way of looking at things.”
Pinsky called Pitt’s attitude toward other people’s emotions “demeaning.”
“Now put those two people together and you have got a really volatile situation. And they’re constantly creating things to weld themselves together,” the celebrity doctor explained.
“Which is only going to serve to make a more nuclear eruption. There will be some sort of meltdown that will be phenomenal when it does happen” he said.
Pinsky has hosted several shows on celebrity hangups, and has not shortage of opinions about celebrity bad behavior.
Jolie makes no effort to hide her past drug use, or her wild past, but said she gave them up long ago.
Her imminent break up with Pitt, with whom she shares six children, has been reported a dozen times in the past few years.
The Hollywood power couple even sued a London tabloid after reporting that their relationship was on the rocks.
So far, none of the predictions have come true. So, add Pinsky to the list.
