Actress Natalie Portman, who wowed audiences in her latest movie “The Black Swan,” with her trim physique, is pregnant with her first child and engaged to dancer boyfriend Benjamin Millepied.
Portman, who famously lost 20 pounds to play an emotionally disturbed prima ballerina in “Black Swan,” was recently nominated for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award, for her role in the movie.
She is likely to also be nominated for her first Oscar in a leading role and is one of the front-runners to win it.
Natalie, 29, met the French-born Millepied, 32, when he was hired as a choreographer for “Black Swan,” according to People magazine which confirmed her pregnancy and engagement today.
Benjamin, a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, studied at the School of American Ballet as a teenager.
Portman, a Harvard-educated actress born in Jerusalem, was raised in Long Island, N.Y.
The two started dating in early 2010. This will be the first marriage and first child for Portman.
When asked in June, Millepied said they were trying to keep their relationship private. “It’s … everybody’s asking us,” he told Details magazine. “We just want to keep things to ourselves.”
Natalie’s next film, the romantic comedy “No Strings Attached,” comes out in February.
In he latest film, “Your Highness,” a romantic comedy she plays a lithe woodsman who strips down to her thong bikini in a risqué scene that has cause some controversy with censors.
She will also be appearing in Marvel film “Thor.”
