Actress Jaime Pressly was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving yesterday (Jan. 5) after she was stopped by Santa Monica, Calif, police around 11 pm. She was charged with DUI after failing a field sobriety test.
Pressly, 33, did not have any drugs in the car with her, according to gossip site, TMZ. She was hauled to the Santa Monica jail and released on $15,000 bond.
The actress was alone in the car., but according to E! News, her bond was unusually high for the offense, which suggests there may have been some unknown aggravating conditions. Typically, the bond is $5,000.
Ironically, Jaime recently told Health magazine that she was healthier, fitter and happier than ever, since marrying entertainment lawyer Simran Singh in 2009. She has one child from a previous relationship.
She was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress In a Comedy Series in 2006 and won the award in 2007.
She was also nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2006 and a Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her role in the sit-com, which ran from 2005 to 2009.
She was booked and released this morning at 6:30 a.m., according to reports. Police released he mug shot today in response to media requests.
Mug shots are a matter of public record and must be released if requested.
She’s due back in court Feb. 7.
Conviction on a first offense in California usually results in three to five months probation, at least 48 hours of community service and can include fines and a six-month license suspension.
