Twlight’s Taylor Lautner dashes across the big screen in his new action thriller “Abduction” and looks steely as he protects co-star Lily Collins in new movie photos released today (Jan. 21) by movie studio Lionsgate.
“Abduction” is about a youth named Nathan (Lautner) who discovers the parents who raised him aren’t his real folks, a revelation that triggers events and leaves him running for his life, according to the company.
The John Singleton-directed cast also includes Alfred Molina and Sigourney Weaver.
Collins is best known for her work in “The Blind Side,” with Sandra Bullock, while veteran Weaver recently starred in “Avatar” and Molina is fresh off his turn in “Spiderman 2.”

Lautner is currently filming Breaking Dawn in Louisiana with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene, Kellen Lutz and the rest of the Twilight Cast.
“Abduction” will be the first big test to see if Lautner can carry a film on his own. He has won international acclaim as werewolf Jacob Black in the Twilight series.
He’s reportedly making $20 million for his role in the film, which puts a lot of pressure on him to score big at the box office. But judging by the new photos, he looks comfortable in the role.
Lautner, 19, a Marshall arts expert, hopes to become an action hero, much like Tom Cruise.
He’s also signed on to shoot a New Regency film described as “‘The Bourne’ Identity for the next generation,”
The story is reportedly based on the exploits of former Israeli Mossad agent Juval Aviv, who served as the inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s Munich.
He’ll also have the lead in Fox 2000′s “Incarceron,” which is still casting and Universal has announced that Lautner will also star in a movie based on the cartoon character Stretch Armstrong. The movies are due in 2012.
Blake Lively, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Watson, have been mentioned as possible co-stars.
