Miley Cyrus may have drawn creepy admiration from actor Jeremy Piven, but among her core fan base, young teen girls, Miley is considered the worst role model of the year, topping the likes of rehabbers Lindsay Lohan and Demi Lovato.
It’s the second time Miley, 18, has won the dubious honor, fueled by the raunchy turn in her music, a couple of photo scandals and the controversial video of her ripping a bong filled with either salvia or marijuana at a raucous house party.
In contrast both Lohan and Demi Lovato did stints in rehab last year; Lohan because of a DUI conviction and Lovato because of a meltdown on tour in which she assaulted a backup dancer.
The survey was conducted by AOL and girls aged nine and 15 reportedly cast the majority of the 99,000 votes. Miley received 58 percent of the vote.
Rounding out the Top 10, were such celebrities as Teen Mom star Amber Portwood, rapper Kanye West, for acting out on Taylor Swift, “Gossip Girl” actor Chace Crawford, who was arrested for marijuana possession and teen actor/singer Taylor Momsen for overall slutty behavior.
Miley, however, may have been judged by a higher standard, because of her long-standing role as a Disney teen star on the hit show Hannah Montana.
She’s began transitioning to an adult singing and film career as she approached her 18th birthday.
Her long-running Disney series has also just come to an end.
During its heyday, she was outspoken about her chastity and born-again Christian beliefs, which made her a ready target for ridicule every time racy photos leaked on the Internet, she suffered a wardrobe malfunction or engaged in provocative behavior. And there have been many.
Advocacy groups such as the International Institute for Alcohol Awareness and the conservative Parents Television Council have criticized the singer for her behavior.
But Miley may be just growing up with her fan base.
She’s currently filming her latest movie “So Undercover” in New Orleans, a comedy that co-stars Piven and Kelly Osbourne.
Despite their 27-year age difference (Piven is 45), the Entourage star told E! News, he had great chemistry with Cyrus. “It was really really weird — we’re like polar opposites,” he said.
