“Transformers” star Shia LaBeouf, by his own admission a nasty drunk, ended up in handcuffs with a fat lip after a fight at a Los Angeles bar. Note to Shia: You may play a tough guy in the movies, but that doesn’t make you a tough guy.
Accounts of exactly what happened vary, of course.
Mark Mastro, who was involved in the scuffle, tells gossp site Radaronline that he was in Mad Bull’s Tavern in Sherman Oaks when he spotted LaBeouf.
According to Mastro, LaBeouf was drinking heavily and was surly. “I went over to his table, sat down next to him, and told him I was a fan of his. I called him Mr. LeBeouf.”
“He didn’t want anything to do with me,” he told the Web site. ” He said he just wanted to chill and refused to do a photos. I walked away.”
Later, Mastro said he was outside with a friend when LaBeouf came out. “Shia told [his friend] to ‘get the f*ck out of my way.’ He was slurring his words.” he said.
“That’s when I said to my buddy, ‘Don’t worry, he’s just a f**cking faggot anyway’,” Mastro says.
Mastro said LaBeouf got in a car and when he saw the two laughing, he jumped out and charged them.
“He was getting in my face. He was talking sh*t. He was chest-bumping me.”
According to other reports, Mastro and his friend were taunting LaBeouf, calling him a “f**cking faggot” over and over again.
Finally, LaBeouf jumped out of the car and confronted them. That’s when the fight ensued.
Eyewitness Mikey Dee told Radar “Shia then lunged but the other guy got the first punch in. He hit Shia hard in the face and split his lip.
“I saw him get hit, everyone did. It caught him in the mouth. He punched him good,” Dee said.
Both ended up in handcuffs, after police arrived on the scene. Neither wanted to press charges, so the two men were released.
LaBeouf has acknowledged that he has a problem with drinking because of his upbringing.
He was arrested in 2008 for being drunk a Walgreen’s drug store in Chicago, and was charged with criminal trespassing.
