Glee’s post Super Bowl episode is shaping up to be a blockbuster, and Fox has just released another clip from the show. If features Destiny’s Child’s song “Bills, Bills, Bills” from 1999.
Darren Criss and the Warblers leads the performance, which will air Feb. 6.
Matthew Morrison, who plays Will on the show, told reporters after a recent concert that the episode will be super.
“There are going to be a lot of theatrics, a lot of crazy stuff going on–people being shot out of cannons,” he said. “But at the same time, there is going to be a lot of heart to it.”
The show will start off with fireworks, almost literally, with an opening number heavily targeting the male dominated Super Bowl audience.
The opening Cheerios dance number is set to Katy Perry’s “California Gurls,” and will feature a sexually charged dance routine, complete with cheerleaders, flaming hoops, whips, torches, and a bevy of bikini-clad girls.
“I think our opening number is going to retain a lot of male viewers,” says co-creator/executive producer Ian Brennan.
Producers are looking at the episode as a chance to build Glee’s male audience. The episode also features Katie Couric.
