Justin Bieber has made what has to have been a carefully calculated move. He traded his trademark helmet hair for a shorter punkier style that’s supposed to look more mature. Will Beliebers forgive him?
Justin prepared his legions of fans for the impossible with a tweet this morning: “Thinking about getting a haircut….hmmmmmm,’ he wrote.
Sure enough, the Bieb took the plunge and revealed his new do on gossip Web site TMZ.
He was shorn by his regular hairdresser Vanessa. He admitted he was nervous, but said he was anxious for a “kind of mature” look.
The hair, which swept across his forehead from one side and across the side of his head from the other was his trademark as he vaulted from YouTube sensation to full-blown pop star last year.
Justin returned to Twitter to break the news: “yeah so it’s true…i got a lil haircut…i like it…and we are giving all the hair cut to CHARITY to auction. Details coming soon,” he wrote.
Bieber also revealed that a new 3D cut of his debut movie “Never Say Never” will hit theaters this weekend.
“Next weekend for ONE WEEKEND ONLY we are adding 40 minutes of NEW FOOTAGE to #NEVERSAYNEVER3D in Theatres!!” he wrote.
“I realized I had an embarrassment of riches when I was in the cutting room,” Director Jon M. Chu said in a release.
The footage will also likely be added to a director’s cut DVD.
