Miley Cyrus has pulled daddy Billy Ray Cyrus’s chain, forcing him to drop his appearance on ABC’s “The View,” as part of the continuing fallout from Billy Ray’s interview in GQ magazine.
Billy Ray enraged daughter Miley by comparing her with drug addled Anna Nicole Smith and Disney’s Hannah Montana series for wrecking his family.
“When Miley found out her father was scheduled to appear on ‘The View’ on Wednesday she went nuts,” a family friend tells Rob Shuter.
“Only last week, Billy shot his mouth off in GQ, and now he planned to sit down with [The View] and talk more crap about his family. No way would Miley, or her team, let that happen.”
In Billy Ray’s revealing interview, he said he had become estranged from his daughter, who is surrounded by a tight circle of handlers.
And, he said he was often called upon to support her errant behavior, even though he disagreed with her antics.
“I’m scared for her,” he said told the magazine. “She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm.”
“At first Miley defended her dad, wanting to believe he had been tricked into saying bad things by the magazine,” an insider tells the gossip monger.
“Miley truly wanted to give her father the benefit of the doubt, goodness knows she’s said things she wishes she could take back. But after she found out about his media trip to New York, no more excuses could be made.”
Billy Ray’s rep confirmed to Shuter that his trip to NYC had been canceled.
