Robert Pattinson may have been overlooked for Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue, but he is slated to grab the cover of the April issue, and according to reports, he’ll be posing with an alligator on the cover.
Photographer Annie Leibovitz got the assignment to shoot the Twilight hunk for the mag’s cover story, which is tied to the release of Pattinson’s upcoming film “Water for Elephants.”
The four-foot reptile, however, has nothing to do with the movie. It’s something Rob encountered while shooting “Breaking Dawn Part I and Part II” in Lousiana, according to Gossip Cop.
Once again, Pattinson off-screen relationship with Kristen Stewart is out of bounds, according to the Web site.

She says Rob will appear on the cover wearing a hat (see photo outtakes).
He remains bewildered by all the fan adoration, and thinks it may be more directed at Twilight character Edward Cullen, rather than him personally.
She also said Rob is an avid reader. During downtime while shooting “Water for Elephants,” Rob read 20 books.
He also revealed that he and some pals drove across country to film “Water for Elephants” because he wanted avoid another airport mob scene.
Oh yes, Rob also likes chocolate covered pretzels and and pretzel M&Ms, she tweeted.
The Pattinson Vanity Fair issue will be on newsstands on March 3.
Rob stars in Water for Elephants with Reese Witherspoon and Christolph Waltz.
He plays a veterinary student abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a traveling circus as their vet.
