Singer Diana Ross looked totally bewildered when Oprah Winfrey started talking about her 1975 film “Mahogany” with Billy Dee Williams. But she was stunned when Williams walked onto the set in an Oprah shocker.
Williams also starred with Ross in the 1972 movie “Lady Sings the Blues,” but surprisingly the two haven’t set foot together on a stage in 35 years.
But Oprah, who is doing a series of farewell shows marking the end of her run in syndicated television, has been full of surprises. And, her ad hoc reunion was the latest.
As Oprah brought up Williams name, and let out a big “So…..”
Ross looked puzzled and said, Where is he, I don’t know where he is?
“In the spirit of our farewell season, please welcome Billy Dee Williams,” Oprah continued.
“Are you kidding me?” Ross said.
“I take full responsibility because my staff said to me, ‘Di — Miss Ross — she does not want any surprises,'” said Winfrey.
