Justin Beiber Hair Sells on EBay; Bidder Paid How Much!? 1Justin Bieber’s hair, which has been for sale on eBay since he appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show last week, has finally found a buyer. Would you believe it sold for $40,668!

Beiber cut his helmet hair with much fanfare, and Ellen begged the newly minted 17-year-old for a clipping. He agreed to provide it, if she promised to auction it for charity.

Ellen put it on online auction Web site eBay on Feb. 23 and started the bidding at $10.

Bieber told Ellen he wanted a change.

“I just wanted to [cut my hair], that’s all,” Bieber said. “I didn’t want to cut it all off, but I had had it for three and a half years.

“I had just gotten sick of it, it was in my eyes. I didn’t want it in my face, I just wanted to change it up.

“You know, the fans really liked it, but they’ll like me no matter what, because I think it’s about the music. I’m really excited to see what the fans overseas think and take it day by day.”

The bidding was restricted to pre-approved buyers only to avoid a stampede by fans.

While the bidding started low, it didn’t stay there for long.

By the end of the first day, the hair, which is in a clear Lucite box autographed by the Bieb himself, was up to $7,000.

From there the bidding progressed slowly, but steadily reaching $14,999 at the end of the day before the auction ended.

On the final day of bidding, Mar. 2, the price started soaring.

The action came down to three bidders, and in the last 30 minutes, the price rose from about $17,000 to the final $40,668.

In all, 98 bids were placed.

So far, the winner has not been identified, but will appear on a future Ellen show along with the singing sensation.

As for the money, it will go to the Gentle Barn, a California animal-rescue center that DeGeneres selected.
