Britney Spears seems to be on a roll aftera her many ups and downs and is in old form — in more ways than one — in a V magazine photo shoot to promote the release of her new album Femme Fatale.
Spears is counting heavily on her early career role as a seductress (some say slut) to boost sales, and looks the part in the wildly colored Mario Testino photos.
Spears, 29, seems determined to recapture the clubs, which have fallen under the influence of Lady Gaga and other younger rivals lately.
The album is filled with “brazen, sexual lyrics” and heavy dance beats, according to the mag.
“She is good times preserved in amber. We don’t ever want her to change. She’s perfect just the way she is,” writes the author Mr. V.

Spears says a femme fatale to her is a “woman who is sexy and strong, dangerous and mysterious, cool and confident.”
What’s more, she says the album is the best she’s ever made.
“I wanted to make a fierce dance record where each song makes you want to get up and move your body in a different way.
“That’s what I want from the music I listen to. This record is for the clubs, or something you play before you go out at night. It’s definitely my edgiest and most mature sound yet.”
For her own listening enjoyment, she singles out the Black Eyed Peas.
“They always put me in a good mood. I listen to them a lot. I love Christina [Aguilera]’s “Woo Hoo,” and “Paper Planes” by M.I.A. I CANNOT stop listening to “We No Speak Americano” by Yolanda Be Cool & DCup,” she says, offering shoutouts.
Britney Spears’s Femme Fatale is out this month.
