Pregnant Mariah Carey Nude on L&S; See Gallery of Photos

Singer Mariah Carey is busting out all over on the cover of Life & Style magazine, striking what has by now become a familiar, iconic pose, naked and pregnant.

Although most women might wince at the photo, it has become a popular shot among magazines that follow celebrities.

“I was feeling very vulnerable about taking pictures at all right now, but then I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Carey told the magazine.

“My ultimate goal was to share this incredibly personal moment with my true fans.”

What’s more, husband Nick Canon loves it, although he confessed he may regret it later when the kids are born.

“I thought I couldn’t love Mariah more,” he said. “But I have a whole new appreciation and admiration for her.”

Demi Moore kicked off the trend when she posed naked on the cover of Vanity Fair in 1991 while seven months with daughter Scout LaRue.

Since then, magazines around the world have copied it.

Britney Spears took her turn on the cover of Harpar’s Bazaar in 2006, when she was expecting second son Jayden.

Among others are singer Christina Aguilera, with son Max on the Jan. 2008 cover of Marie Claire and Brit singer Lisa Scott-Lee on the UK’s Closer magazine in 2009.

“Matrix Reloaded” star Monica Bellucci bared her bump for the second time in Vanity Fair, Italy at 45 years old. Italian magazines love the pose.

Unlike Moore and the others, however, Carey is just days away from giving birth and is blown out to humongous proportions because she is carrying twins.

“The babies were kicking almost the entire time; it was unbelievable,” Carey says. “Especially the girl; clearly she’s a diva in training.

“We didn’t start shooting until 1:30 am because I was in the hospital from the night before until the day of the shoot with contractions five minutes apart!,” the singer said, in what proved to be a false labor.

Carey is due to give birth in the next few weeks, although she could go anytime.

Life & Style is available Friday.
